Good goat times today. Cold and gloomy, though. I read somewhere that it’s been the darkest December in Denmark in a hundred years. Or forever. Or something. There’s been almost no sun anyway. I want spring plz.
It rained a bit today too. I think there was some sleet or hail in it too. Ducked into the shelter with Milo and Sky. Mia was in the goat house and it took a while before I got her to come over. Tippytoeing through mud and rain. Had to rattle the treatbag for a while before she joined us. But it’s always nice to sit in the shelter when it rains. Cuddling with goats and listening to the rain. Not too bad. And it dried up eventually. But no sun. We need to move to Hawaii.

The gloom is easier to take when the company is good.
I misread the weather forecast a bit. Or maybe it was just wrong. It said that it would be a tiny bit warmer and that the rain wouldn’t start until later in the day. I should have dressed warmlier. It may be time to bring out the winter coat now.

Congratulations to President-elect Joe Biden. It took six weeks for Mitch to aknowledge it, but hey turtles are slow when they drag themselves through shit. Even Geraldo is facing facts. I think it’s time for the trumpers to change their story from ‘trump is still going to win this’ to ‘they stole the election’, which I’m sure we’ll have to hear about for the next 4 years. Not your president? Damn right. Your president is the one you elected AFTER hearing him brag about sexual assautl, AFTER seeing him mock disabled people, AFTER he invented the idea that facts are biased, AFTER not seeing his taxes, AFTER watching him brag about bursting into underaged dressing rooms. That’s YOUR president, have fun going to his covid rallies until he runs again in 4 years.
Yes, I alm also looking forward to me not talking about politics so much next year. Hooves crossed.

“In an AMA, the creator said his idea for the finale was for Earl to get stuck on a really hard name on his list. But then some guy who has his own list tries to right the wrong ge had done to Earl. Earl realizes he’s started a whole movement of lists, kind of like Pay it Forward. Earl rips up his list and walks into the sunset, a free man. With good karma.”

Bigger shutdown beginning in Denmark tomorrow. I found out about it too late to go get supplies. I really really hope I can still go shopping in the supermarket in the shopping centre next door. All shopping centre will be closed, but grocery stores and supermarkets remain open. It’s really unclear to me if I’ll still be able to go shopping there. On the shopping centre’s facebook page they say they will still be handing out mail packages and the butcher’s remains open. So the supermarket ought to be accessible too.. I think?! I don’t have any other shops in easy walking distance so it would be a lot harder for me if I can’t go there.
Not to be whiny about it or anything… we’ve still been lucky in Denmark, even though the numbers have been going the wrong way lately. I hope this will help matters.
It’s just difficult for me with my bad eyesight if I can’t do things they way I have learned to do them.
I wonder if the playground will shut down for the holidays. Of course they will have to feed the animals, but I don’t know how much they’ll be out and stuff. Grurgh.
I had a foot therapy apointment tomorrow, but I cancelled that even before I found out about all this shutdown stuff. I was worried about the situation with the virus.
I guess we’ll just have to see.

Gets up in the ‘morning’. Turns on phone. Beebs say new messages. Okay, I’ll just grab my medication before I check them. Gets my pills and slurps them down with water. Goes to phone. Checks messages. “Citizens advised to boil their water before drinking”. Oh urp.
Apparently they have found bacteria in the water supply. Wish i’d read that before I drank the water. Oh well. I only drank a mouthful, Probably won’t kill me. Might have to eat pizza, which is proven to kill bacteria when applied orally, I’m pretty sure.

Wow, Lars von Trier is making a third season of Riget. What has it been, 25 years? Like Twin Peaks. Lots of similarities there. Riget is also going to be missing people that have passed away over the years. Especially Ernst-Hugo Järegård. The image of him on top of the kingdom hospital screaming into the night sky DANSKJÄVLA is something that has never gone away from Danish pop culture. There is sometimes a strained relationship between Danes and Swedes (although hopefully it’s mostly for fun) but that Swedish guy calling us bastards just made everyone love him.
I hope von Trier does what Lynch did. Which is, not give a flying fork what people are expecting and hoping for and just doing whatever weird freaky shirt he can come up with.
And maybe Stephen King can make a remake of this one too later on!

Rest in peace Jeremy Bulloch. I must admit I didn’t know him very well, out of the mask. But no doubt that early Boba Fett was one of the things that captured everyone’s imagination in the time of the first Star Warses. And from what people are saying about him here and on twitter he was really good to fans.
Fett and Vader. Hope you’re having a drink together, masks resting in your laps.

It’s honestly kinda scary. Looking on twitter, what people are saying about the story about justice Roberts screaming at the other scotusses. It’s a completely madeup story, and you know this because the scotus doesn’t physically meet because of the pandemic. But someone just made it up. And people just believe it. I have friend on here who heard it from their preacher. And they just believe it. They’ve been giving carte blanche to ignore anything ‘mainstream’ media says, but they just believe what they read on the internet. What they read on breitbart or hear on conspiracy radio or qanon blogs or whatever. You got thousands of people who know think that the reason scotus didn’t declare Trump winner is that Roberts is afraid of rioters. People saying that the military needs to be set on scotus. You can laugh at the idea of a coup or martial law, but then you see that there are actually many many people who think that is an appropriate solution, because of shit they read on the internet.
And meanwhile TRump is sitting up at 1am and attacking McCain on twitter again. Good to know some things remain constant. Republicans still shit on veterans. Make sure not to wear a mask when you cough on the homeless.
Well there will always be a chance to do better with the veterans created by the civil war you’re going to start.

Had a rough night. I had the worst headache I can rembember ever having. I should have gotten up and taken some aspirin, but I thought ‘oh I’ll sleep through it’. Ended up with lots of tossing and turning and really bad pain. I also started feeling nauseated and like my body was super heavy and hard to move. I started wondering if that bacteria in the water had gotten to me. Or the rona.
Well, I’m feeling better now thankfully. My head maybe a little woozy, but other than that okay I think.
Oh and my water is good again, according to the waterworks.

Good soup times today. Yes, mama made first soup of the season. Yum yum! I love my elderberry soups, but mama’s oldfashioned homemade soup is the best soup. And nice to get together with the parents and brother. It’s been a rough year, for us too. Hopefully year will bring better tidings. Dad had a scan yesterday, so we’re waiting to hear back from that and see if there’s something to be done for him.
But the soup was great. And now I have leftover soup for a couple of days.
Or, I will have. There was a mixup when we left in a taxi to get me home. And the soup was left behind. Shock horror. Thankfully no one stole it from the street. So if all goes well I’ll get it tomorrow. The best thing about soup is that it lasts for days.

Okay, I can’t avoid it any longer.
The Mandalorian season finale. I, like everyone else, have thoughts.
Unfortunately I looked at twitter yesterday, before watching it. And people were niec enough to have the BIG SPOILER trending IN ALL CAPS with NO WARNING.
If you haven’t watched the season finale, and you’re planning to, don’t read on. If you’ve managed to avoid the spoilers up to now anyway, hah.

So that happened.
And it was forking awesome.
Of course, since it’s Star Wars there’s going to be people loving it and people hating it. But I am firmly in the loving it camp.
I don’t know if I hadn’t seen LUKE SKYWALKER trending on twitter, if I would have immediately guessed who was arriving in that X-wing. But on the other hand, knowing it was him meant I could enjoy every little bit of his BADASH JEDI MASTER COOLNESS.
Seriously, we have been waiting for what? 40 years? To see Master Jedi Luke Skywalker going all Jedi Master and using the full powers of the awesome force. It reminded me a little, and other people have said the same, of Vader’s bit in Rogue One. Just complete awsome brilliance. Mmm mm.
Up until that I had loved the episode already. It was thrilling. The Tie fighters being deployed. The shuttle. The star destroyer. Mandalorians fighting stormtroopers. More excellent, fun Star Wars action.
I’m not the hugest fan of the dark troopers, but I’m not gonna lie. They are pretty intimidating. When they all come marching with that music.. not the most starwarsy feel, but very effective.
And then gosh darned it. If it isn’t Wormie.
When I was talking with people about which Jedi would respond to Grogu’s call, there were only a few options if it was to be someone we knew. And I mentioned Luke and said “but I doubt they’d do that”.
But they did. They did that. They really did. And of course opinion is divided. Some people think it’s fan service, some think it looked bad, some think they should have recasted. I loved it. There was a slight bit of ‘uncanny valley’ feeling to it. Maybe just the disconnect of it. Wait, it’s Luke. And he looks like in Return. But that’s decades ago. Whaaaat? But maybe my bad eyesight helped me, because I did think it looked good. And I am willing to accept it. And I had tears in my eyes. When he showed his face I had tears in my eyes and my mouth was wide open and I couldn’t believe it and I loved it.
And then mando said “I’ll see you again” and I said out loud “I promise” and mando said “I promise”.
Oh boy. all the feels, as the kids say. Sniffle. But it was perfect. If this is the end of Grogu’s story, then it couldn’t have been better.
When they first were talking about taking the child back to his own kind, I didn’t think they meant jedi. In the first season I had this mental image of the series ending with two tall yoda beings stepping out of the mist and without saying a word taking the child and stepping back into the mist. On some secret yoda planet. I always wondered if Yoda was always that little. We only saw him around 800-900 years old. I always kind of had the idea that time shrank him down like that. And that maybe younger, but not baby younger, yoda people were relatively human heighted. Anyway that was how I pictured the story ending in my head. Of course that’s all out the window now.
So what happens to Grogu now? Who knows. I’m guessing this is the end of this chapter of his life and he won’t be on the Mandalorian anymore. The show is called The Mandalorian, not The Grogu. It will feel kind of weird at first, but The Mandalorian can continue without the child.
And does Grogu die at Luke’s academy? I hope not. I don’t think so. That would seem cruel and pointless. Maybe he did get to go back to a Yoda planet. Or maybe he’s out in space somewhere. Maybe he’s got a porg farm on the other side of Ach-To.
I’m sure we’ll get more of his story at some point. In another show or movie or book or comic. Or season 16 of The Mandalorian.
But I can’t imagine they’ll make Luke a regular on the show. And I can’t imagine Luke will come back in the opening of next season and go “This kid is ridikk, I can’t take it anymore. You can have him”
So I think this is a good arc for him. The fantastic shocking mindblowing reveal of him and the fantastic Lucky Luke handover.
And what’s next for the Mandalorian? Baby Jar Jar? Baby Nien Numb? BABY LOBOT. We gotta have a baybee!
I don’t know. There’s obviously a story with the Mandalorians and the darksaber and retaking Mandalore. They could do that. And they said that the Rangers and Ahsoka shows will tie in with The mandalorian for a climactic event. Maybe it’s Thrawn. They have hinted at him. And we don’t know how Thrawn dies in the Disneyverse. The old Heir To The Empire storyline is washed away. So maybe these shows will bring him in as leader of this imperial remnant and the climactic event could be our heroes taking him down for good. Of course then there’s the question of Ezra.
But that would be my guess. Mandalore/darksaber/Thrawn.
But. There is another…
How about that post credit scene? HOLY FORKING SHIRTBALLS. Yall know how I feel about Tatooine. I have mentioned my fondness for the old Tales Of books. Not least Tales of Jabba’s Palace. I have specifically said on here that I really wanted them to do something with Jabba’s palace and show what happened to it after Jabba died.
And they did the thing. Where’s my royalties check?! You stole my idea! YOU OWE ME MONEY.
I was so excited when they panned onto the palace. I love that palace. Somewhere in a pile of books on a shelf I have an Illustrated Star Wars artbook thing. There’s a beautiful painting of the palace.
Gamorrean guards! Bib! Biiib! Oh wow.
I don’t know what ‘the book of Boba Fett’ is going to be. My first thought was a movie or its own series. But someone mentioned that it’s coming December 2021. Which is when season 3 of The Mandalorian is going to come too. I guess it would make sense. For our Mando’s story to be over now, with Grogu gone. The Mandalorian could shift to a new Mandalorian. And be about Boba.
Or Boba could be the bad guy, in charge of the Hutt syndicate and something something.
I don’t know. I just really want to see a whole lot of Jabba’s palace and Tatooine. Maybe Cobb Vanth wants ‘his’ armour back…
Well I think that about covers it. Sorry for rambling, but I just need to get that all off my chest. The Mandalorian has been so great at bringing back the fun of Star Wars. I am a fan and I like to be serviced. Seeing Luke back was the ultimate. But it has all been so good. Smart and funny and hitting the mark perfectly.
It’s funny, for so long I had a hard time taking Favreau seriously because.. I could only ever think of his character on Friends. You know, Monica’s boyfriend with the wrestling ring. And when he was doing movie for Marvel I thought “huh, that guy? Weird”. But him and Filoni have rocked it. In a way it’s a relief to have the big Skywalker Saga done. No big trilogies with the pressure of decades of fandom crushing down. Just fun, like playing with your action figures when you were a kid. Like the Marvel comic and the Tales Of and Han and Lando books. It makes me feel like the little kid who hadn’t yet decided if the movies were called Star Wars or Stjernekrigen. My audio cassette tape with soundeffects and Paul Glargaard narrating the various roles. My Return Of The Jedi pencil case. That day when my dad and I picked up the Millennium Falcon model, the big one, we bought it used from some kid and it was glorious.
It’s weird how such a silly thing can become such a huge part of your life. I remember my dad translating Luke’s name into Danish for hme. Lukas Himmelganger. Renting the Ewok movies in Video Shoppen that later became the local Blockbuster. Importing the English books because they weren’t released in Danish.
I like Star Wars.

Here is an interesting video if you’re wondering whether lockdown and social distancing is effective against the virus.
Spoiler alert: Scientific data suggests that it very much is.
The video is done by a guy who is very into peer reviewed science and verifiable data and that sort of stuff. He does a lot of debunking of false information, especially regarding climate science and global warming. And I highly recommend his channel because it is very informative as well as entertaining.
I’m looking forward to America starting to take climate change seriously again, I just hope it’s not too late. Who knows how much 4 years has cost the world. But hey, as long as the gas prices are low. Your great grandkids aren’t in the womb yet, so their lives don’t matter.

Good news! Our neighbor’s Boer goats finally had babies. After about a hundred years, or so it seemed, Sasha had twin girls on 12-17-20.
Pebbles, the other mama, had one little boy on Saturday, 12-19-20. Everyone is doing fine and the girls are good mama’s. It is their first kids.
The babies are just as cute as can be. They were laying close to the pen, so I was able to pet them. They are so soft and warm!
It’s been so depressing with Covid-19, but new babies really brightened our days.

Give them a smocoh from me! I had a nice little christmas as I always do with my parents and brother. No snow, but other than that it was as it should be. Hope you guys had a good one!
