Good goat times today. There was a big a-do at the goat place today. When I arrived and walked up the drivway leading to the playground, I was overtaken by a vehicle with a trailer carrying a big digging machine. ‘What’s that about’ I thought as it turned and drove towards the goat pen. Well, it was about digging. Turns out the playground are getting new swings. “To attract more ‘customers'” as Jeanette said. Not just adding goats, but swings too. And I guess they had to dig up some foundation. So there was a couple of machines and some men working on that. I had to wait a little to let the goats out, because we had to block off the entrance to the bigger pen so the goats couldn’t go in there. Because Jeanette had had the excellent idea of taking all the earth that was dug up and ferry it into the goat pen to make a new goat mountain. Just another example of Jeanette thinking of the goats. And so the goats stood and watched as the machines worked and as a little mountain was slowly erected in their big pen. Neato! It wasn’t done by the time I left so I didn’t get to take them into the big pen and see how they’d react to the mountain. But hopefully they will like it and we’ll have some climbing and running on it. I think it’s a little taller than the platforms, but as I said I haven’t seen the final form. I’ll show you a picture soon.
We also had visitors in the goat pen. Cute kids and we even had a new butt inspector! He wasn’t quite as obvious and outrageous about it as the girl from last week, but it still is fun to me how the kids have no filter and no shame about just bending down and looking straight up at the goat butt. Haha.
So lots going on today.

Here is the new goat mountain, or at least the first stage of it. Jeanette wasn’t sure if they would add more … can you say earth in English? I’m not sure now. In Danish the word for earth is both the planet and the stuff making the mountain. Is it just called dirt or.. well anyway, it might get bigger. I kinda want it wider and less tall, less steep. Jeanette said if we can’t get them to do that we can just do it ourselves. So it will be a little easier to climb. And she wants to buy grass …seed? Seedlings. Plant grass on it. So hopefully it will get even better, but whatever happens it’s nice to have stuff in the goat pen for the goats to interact with. I can just imagine Sky racing from goat hill to goat mountain, back and forth, up and down.

Mia kept close watch, not only on the machines but also on the strange thing growing out of the ground. They are very observant of change and new things.

Here’s today’s butt inspector. He was slightly more subtle about it than the girl last week. But still, Milo got inspected.

The goats are very popular among the non-butt inspecting crowd too.

One more of today’s visitors in the goat pen. Little Sky getting some love. These guys also thought she was a baby. No, she’s just petite. It is often remarked on how the goats are different sizes. We got a big, a medium and a small. Like the three billy goats gruff, even though we only got one dude in the flock. And they aren’t very gruff.

i just had a weird experience. I guess I was taking a nap in my comfy chair. I woke up all confused. I wasn’t sure ..well, who or where I was or what I had been doing. I felt like I had to retrace my steps to get back into my head. I had to remind my self where the goats were, at first I was thinking if I was going to visit them at the goat house, but then I remembered they don’t live there anymore. Like i had to relearn everything. I ordered takeout earlier today, I had to think if I’d eaten, if i had gone shopping. A lot of my life is centered around routines and habits, and I felt like i had to deduce where I was in my routine. Weird and kind of scary feeling. And now that I think about it, it’s a little like that one time I had the ‘brain fog’ incident. That time I was coming home from shopping. That was what, a month or two ago?
It felt a little like dementia, only with dementia I guess you can’t find your way back to your reality.. if that makes sense.
I don’t know. I feel ok now. It’s just extremely unsettling to feel like you’re lost in your own head.

In other news, I have started watching Fawlty Towers again. I can’t count how many times I’ve watched it but I never get tired of it. I pratically know if all by heart but it still makes me laugh. I just watched the hotel inspector episode and it never fails when I watch the final scene, where Basil realises that the three men are hotel inspectors and he screams, I always scream along with him in my head. It’s just a perfectly crafted series. Even though there are things that haven’t aged well in it, it’s still just a joy to watch. I said the other day on twitter that I wanted to find a way to travel to other dimensions so I could go hunting for that one reality where John Cleese sold out and made a bunch more episodes. I wish there was more!

Yes, we went to see the newbs today. Snl in the house. Or rather, in the countryside.
First and foremost, they seemed to be doing well. Nuller was bleating and bleating. So loud! The last while at the old place when I went to see them he was doing little sad mewls. It was nice to hear him bleating out loud. It was a little bit rainy, so they weren’t too keen on coming out at first, but i got them out and it was nice to just spend time with them again. You betcha I spoiled them with plenty of treats.
Let me recount the day. We started out at the new place, had some sweet visitors in the pen with mms. Once that was done we took off in Jeanette’s car. I think the drive was something like 30ish minutes. I did my best to be a ‘real human’ and had some nice conversation. On the trip there we had some quite personal talk about our families, she told me some stuff about hers and I told her some about mine. And all the things going on. I managed to actually ask some questions and I think I did ok. It was rather nice. She is easy to talk to. On the way home we talked quite a bit about music which was cool. I’m just really thankful that she helped find this home for snl and that she was willing to take me.
She guided me to the goat pen and we spent a bit of time there, and then she went off to eat her packed lunch while I just hung out with the goats. Nuller nibbling at my hat, Sassy sharklike lockjawedbiting the treatbag, Lily looking up and licking at my face. They seemed healthy and happy. And that’s the most important thing. They don’t have as much stuff there as they did in the goat pen at the playground, but there was a decent amount of space, there was a christmas tree for them and a pallet thing. Their indoors place was pretty small, nowhere near as fancy as the old goat house. It almost looked like a tent, although the walls were solid. I think this is a temporary pen, as I think I mentioned the mother wants to make them a pen right outside her kitchen window so her kids can be out with the goats and she can watch from the kitchen. So their current digs probably aren’t permanent. Oh the family that has them now wasn’t actually there with us, Jeanette and I was there by ourselves. Kids were at school I guess, they have four kids all various school ages. I’m not sure where the parents where, if they were away or just let us have our privacy. But it’s out in the countryside, open fields around. And horses and other animals around.
But yeah that’s pretty much it. The slight rain put a bit of a damper on it, but it was nice to just sit down with the gang again. I so wish we could have all six together. They really are three wonderful goats. But I know the family appreciates them and love them and are happy to have goats that are so good with humans. And the most important thing is that we saved them from a bad ending, we got a good home for them and they can have good lives there. I think Jeanette will take me to see them again some time, but it’s not going to be a regular thing. I can’t get there by myself and Jeanette can’t just take off work like today all the time. I am thankful that Malene let us do it today. It made it a lot easier for me, and for Jeanette too.
I’m just so relieved that they are okay. I think things turned out well for them. All things considered. Hope this is their happily ever after.

Here is video from today’s trip. The beginning was filmed by Jeanette, she suggested she could film the reunion for us. Probably would have made a bit better moment if it hadn’t been raining, but it was just great to spend some time with these three lovelies again.

Alors. On danse?
Yesterday I fell into a Stromae rabbit hole on youtube. I only knew this song. It’s a phenomenal masterpiece. But then on youtube when you watch a video on the right side there are the related videos section. And I figured, I’d just click on some of those and they will probably all suck because he’s probably a one-hit wonder. But everything I clicked on was just.. good. I only have a very basic grasp of French, but I love the electronic beats and the rythm of his style and a lot of the videos were really visually interesting too. So yeah, I recommend you go to youtube and look at Stromae videos.
Je suis tu es il est nous sommes vous etes ils sont. Did I ever brag about how I got the highest possible grade on my French oral exam? Because I did, you know. GOut-on voir si le vin est bon. J’ai tu as il a nous avons vous avez ils.. ass? I don’t know. Je suis un pommes de terre, ma frere. Voulez-vous dansez avec moi c’est soit.

In other news… turns out the new goat mountain did in fact grow after I left. In fact it has ended up considerably bigger than I expected. We still need to scult it a bit, make a better flat top on hopefully and the sides a little easier to climb. And I really hope we can sow grass on it. Right now with the rains it’s just kind of a big wet dirt pile, the goats don’t want to go on that. But hopefully in time it will be a nice thing for them to run around on too.
