Operating Systems
Good goat times today. Overcast mostly, some slight rain now and then. Still Easter holiday, so I was on my own with the goats. Not too much excitement today. Breakfast, hay, snacks. Treats, aperitifs, amuses bouches. Gotta feed the beasts.
I did a little brushing of both Bella and Luna. Getting out the winter wool of the coat. Bella was much calmer about being touched today. No running away from approaches from the side.
Sky on the other hand ran away as soon as she realised what I was trying to do with the brush. No you don’t, mister! If I scratch her with my hand she loves it for ages. If I put the brush on her fur then it’s like im trying to brand her with burning iron. Oh goats.
Time to feed the Lasse beast now, get my soup on.

Got an hour forty on the bike today. Starting to eat more now, so I want to keep the exercise going strong to hopefully keep things in balance. Legs are still worn out, but better than last week. I still need to give them a little break, but I want to get settled into the new less restrictive diet first.
One day a day, just plugging away. Dust in the wind, farts in the breeze are we, not this crude matter.

i have been doing more work on my old computers. My old Windows 7 computer is now running Windows 10 LTSC. Should work well as an emergency backup.
And I actually managed to get Windows 11 installed on the old test pc. After several failed tries. Got it running. And oh my. I know I have said bad things about Windows 11, but I must admit after finally actually seeing the operating system running… what a disgraceful pile of porg doodoo. EUCK.

Before this I had figured that I really wanted a new computer, probably some time this year. But after seeing windows 11 running, I am not thinking I want to hang on to my current computer for as long as possible so I can stay on Windows 10. And I think Windows 10 is junk. But junk is still like a 7 course fine dining meal in Paris copared to the turdburger that is Windows 11.
Sorry I’m so sublte, I hope you can decode my veiled feelings.
Anyway. Hopefully you can tame and modify 11 enough for it to be useable somehow. Or maybe I can outride it till 12. I’m glad I got it running on the test pc, I can play a little around with it. If I can stomach it.
I wonder how bad Windows 12 will be. I keep thinking they can’t make things worse, but when you go frm xp to 7 to 10 to 11, it’s just a downwards spiral. And don’t get me started on accessibility and privacy.
In fact I better shut up now. But I’m glad I got a backup Windows 10 pc and a test windows 11 pc, that’s cool. I’m running a last bach of diskscrubbing on the old XP PC and then I’ll get rid of that.
A lifetime of computers. Nothing I miss more than the old Commodore 64, Amiga 500 and 486 DOS PC computers. Those were the days.
Still one of the main highlights of my life, the car ride late at night with my dad to go buy a used C64. One of those watershed moments that changed the course of your life.

Got myself some pizza today. For the first time in a very long time. A little reward for all the hard work. So that was nice. My depression has been flaring up recently, but i’m trying to focus on the better things and not dwell on the turdsandwiches at the buffet.

Good goat times today. Mostly overcast, but at least it kept dry. With Easter holiday over, we had the pleasure of the company of Jeanette, and the visiting kids from the neighbour school. Beren was there again after a few eeks missing, so that was nice. She managed to give a big hug to little Luna. And Bella did well with being petted, she seems to be more at ease, not so skittish when approached from the sides. Let’s hope that continues.
Lots of headbutting between Bella and Luna. They really go at it. While Sky tries her best to steer clear. “I’m getting too old for these berries2.
Got home and did an hour and change on the bike. Always demanding after a goat trip. Working off that pizza. And now it’s time to add soup. Those are the instructions that come with your personal Lasse toy. Just add soup.

There’s apparently discussion in Denmark about creating our own local ‘cloud’ service to replace the American stuff like Microsoft and apple and amazon. there’s a reddit thread about it and people are talking about what it should be named. In Danish “cloud” is “sky”. Didn’t take long before someone suggested “SkyNet”. Haha. Made me chuckle. Bet you didn’t think Denmark would be the unleashers of SkyNet upon the world.

Got an hour fortyfive on the bike today. Legs still need a break, but still flapping away.
Had to force myself to get going. i was feeling sad and depressed and frustrated about stupid little things that don’t matter. But once i got going it was good, always a good feeling to sweat out the feelings and feel the physical burn. Good stuff.
As someone said recently, I am obsessing. Yeah a bit. There are worse things to obsess about than your health, though. And when you’ve lost most of your eyesight to diabetes and the diabetes was rising again, it is kind of important to you. And when you’ve been fat all your life and it has made you ashamed and mentally wrecked, well it does tend to consume you and actually getting slimmer is something that, well fills a lot.
it’s not like it’s all I think about constantly, but it always me to write things out and keep track of it like that, and yes it’s also motivating to get the encouragement and compliments from the good folks on here. I’m not gonna lie about that, it’s something that helps me to keep at it.
I don’t have that much going on in my life. Goats, exercise, the books movies and tv. Other than that what’s left. Political rants? No one wants more of those.
I’m going to put some soup on now. Planning to have pizza tomorrow, as i ease into the less restrictive diet. Looking forward to cheese sandwiches next week. And the good cucumber. Just slightly obsessed.

Love when Luna sits with me. Bella doesn’t do that, she finds her spot and it can be near me, but she’s not sitting right next to me. Sky won’t typically come and sit next to me, mostly because when the coast is clear from the big girls and Sky comes to me, she wants to be scratched and cuddled, she won’t come and sit up against me, she’ll come and stand next to me and nudge me with her horns until I give her the attention she wants. But Luna often likes to just come and sit down right up against me. She’s pretty much too big for lap goat time now, but i’m still happy to sit like this.
