Lord Of The Kittens

Okay, I think it’s time for me to introduce my future new kitten.

kittens

The grey one on the left. With the smiley face. Isn’t it a cute litter? And isn’t the grey one just the cutest? I’m sure you’ll agree. They are practically newborn there, so I’m still finding it hard to visualize how it will look when it is older. Suddenly the google hits I’ve been getting for “can you tell how big a kitten will grow” make all the more sense.

I don’t even know if it’s a boy or a girl yet. Althought Desirée speculates that it’s probably a boy, because it looks so much like the father. We’ll see. Desirée is the wonderful woman who is giving me the kitten. Well, actually it’s her mother I guess. You might have seen the story in the comment section. Otherwise the short version is that tourists left a cat at their summer house. They adopted it and named it Aslan. And then Aslan brought home a pregnant lady cat. And the result is a sweet litter of kittens. One of which will be mine, all mine!

When I was a little kid I wanted so badly to have a pet. And to name it Frodo. People may scoff at that name and may think that it’s all poppy and because of the Lord of the Rings movies and so on and so forth. But my inner child is still begging for a pet named Frodo. And I will most likely comply. I also considered “Earl”. Because of Earl’s Grey, you know. It’s the grey one. I might incorporate that into a silly title, though. I like silly titles. Frodo, the Earl of Grey. Maybe. I also thought of Narnian alternatives, to honour Aslan. But it’s been so very, very long since I read those books.. so I’ll probably pick Frodo. I would however like comments or suggestions, if you have any. I still have some time to think it over.

But isn’t it awfully exciting? A kitten, can you believe it. An appartment and a kitten all of my own. I would have never thought…

Now it has gotten very late, so I will end the entry. Leaving some leftovers for tomorrow. And more kitten pictures in the future, if Desirée is willing! I guarantee once I get my hand on that kitten it’s going to be the most photographed animal in the history of animals being photograbbed. You think I post too many goat pictures? You ain’t seen nothing yet.

I already have a photo album ready. There are a couple more pictures there of the kittens and parents. Pictures courtesy of Desiree and her mother.

PS. The twins still need to find an owner, so if you’re local and you need kittens then go see Desirée.

What cutie pies!! I love them already! It’s going to be tough to choose just one. I’ve always favored kats that like to be touched and held. Some kats hate that; some love it. I’m partial to those kitty kats that like to be picked up and then meow out of happiness.

Oh my, baby kitties. Frodo is so sweet. I think Frodo is a good name whether it’s a girl or a boy kitty.

So does Desiree and/or the kitties live near you or will Frodo have to be Fed-Ex’d to you? Mmmmm… Frodo’s big adventure as he/she travels to Denmark to be with the owner of his/her dreams.

When we had bunches of kitties to name, I went to the paint store (I seem to be there alot) and looked at the names on the color chips samples for ideas. That’s how Spaulding (Gray) got her name.

YOU take lots of pictures of goats??? I guess I never noticed that before. hee, hee So I take it there will be many, many kitty kat pictures to come? That will be great, I’ll be looking for the one that shows Plume training the kitty to use the litter box.

    OMG KITTENZ

LuisLemmings – Yes, its’ too bad that I can’t have all four! But I think that would be a bit of a handful for a first-time cat owner! I have always liked grey cats though, e ven though it may seem like a cliché. But that was my reasoning behind picking that one. I can’t wait!

Debster – They don’t get much babier than that! Little Frodo will have to be fedexed to me. Well, actually, Desirée knows someone who can do the dropoff, so I’m sure the kitten won’t be treated like any old package! As far as I know I’ll have it hand delivered right to my doorstep. What service!

    Corrie – I KNOW!!
