Hassle Nuts
It’s hazel time.
Hazel nuts have dropped from the big trees round the back of the playground. I found out by accident. I was sitting on the bench with the goats. And a boy came over and fed them something. I didn’t know what it was. But it was crunchy, I could hear that. At first I thought maybe it was hard noodles. But turned out to be hazels. So I went and gathered nuts. Filled up a plastic bag. And the goats went wild. They love their hazels. They could have emptied the entire bag if I’d let them. Especially Magnethe. She’s loves them, it’s like seeing a drug addict. More more more!
Even the buck loved them. Once he figured out that cracking them revelead a tasty inside. I love the sound of cracking nuts and crunchy chewings.
And the goats help my mood tremendously. It has been swinging lately. But it always swings up when I’m around them.
Here’s to goats.
I like my new camera so far. Apart from the video mode. If you record in highest quality then it can only do some 20 seconds. So I have to set it down to 15 fps instead of 30. Annoying, but live-with-able. What’s worse is that you can’t zoom when doing videos. Not optical zoom. You can only use digital zoom, and everyone knows digital zoom is horrid. It’s not acceptable quality-wise. So that’s a bummer. Now I’m wondering wether I should keep my old camera for making videos. Or try to sell it to get some cash. I’m not sure. I’ll ponder.
Now it’s the weekend, and all it brings. I’ll be feeding the animals tomorrow. I’ll bring a few hazels for them. Treats all around.

I thought your blog was going to be about “David Hasselhoff” from the old Baywatch tv show. Hee, hee. Guess Hassle Nuts is about the same!
What’s with the swinging moods? Have you ever charted the days when this happens to see if there’s a pattern? Maybe during a full moon or something. Have you made any changes in meds lately?
You seem to do well on a routine like getting up at the same time, going to bed at the same time, eating regularly, etc. I know you don’t always do that (staying up late), but I wonder if that has anything to do with it?
*Note to self: must get to the bottom of Plume’s mood swings. Mmmmm . . . not enough goats, needs more Oreos, caffeine-free Mt. Dew, needs to be a tour guide at the San Diego Zoo – “and here is our famous Mr. Rhino” Stand back everyone.”

I think mood swings are normal as long as they aren’t so very high or so very low. It takes a while to find that even keel in one’s life.

Tracking moods could in fact reveal something interesting! I like Debster’s idea. Full moons effect everyone, but some more so. Some dispute you. That’s pretty interesting, if you ask me.
Thanks to Plume for making me absolutely need, no question about it, have to have it, a hazelnut iced coffee. I’m going to go get one. Mmmmmm. I AM a Capricorn, aren’t they the zodiac goat? Hazelnuts are delicious.

Some dispute IT. I meant. I promise that I’ll do a typo check next time. Sorry.

Debster – It must be a hassle to have a name like that! Oh ho ho I amuse myself. There once was a German footballer called Thomas Hassler. He must have been very annoying to play against. The fun never stops at Plume’s!
I will get back to the moods soon. I have some insights to share. Exciting!
LuisLemmings – I try not to rock the boat too much.
Corrie – People better not dispute me! Or there will be no delicious hazelnuts for them. No soup for you! Don’t worry about typos. I know I dun’t.
