Wintermute
Is it cold, or is it just me?
I have had to put on my woolly socks. It’s not that the weather has turned to winter exactly. Just colder. And the floor in my appartment gets cold. And my feet get cold. I want my summer back, so I can complain about the heat again.
Yesterday I did my world-famous Elmer Fudd impersonation. “Shhhhhhhh, be vewy vewy quiet; I’m hunting wabbits, ehehehehehehe”. That’s what I said. No, actually that’s what I wish I had said. But I only thought of it right now. Anyway, what I was trying to get to was the fact that I was hunting rabbits yesterday. One rabbit, I mean. Yes, the bunny who has learnt to jump the fence. It did not want to come back inside when I was closing up the playground after feeding the animals. And it was being very clever. There’s a little space behind the chicken coop. Just enough space for you to walk around. But there are also trees and bushes that block the way if you’re a big, rabbit-hunting human. The little rabbit had no problem running around the coop. So it would run to the left side. And I’d go to the left side. Then it would run around the coop to the right side. I had to take the long way around and approach from the other side. And of course the bunny then took the short way back to the left side. And I had to take the long route. And so on and so forth. I spent a good 10-15 minutes chasing that damn bunny. I got myself a bucket and then I approached it ever so slowly. If you’re Danish you might remember the intro cartoon to Bamses Billedbog, the part where he’s trying to catch the balloon and he’s walking all casually and looking the other way and then BAM he jumps at the balloon. That’s what I did, I looked the other way and slowly walked towards the bunny and then I (almost) jumped forward and threw the bucket down and trapped the bunny inside. Phew.
Exciting story, no?
Other than that it was nice. There were some visitors, adults and kids. A woman asked me if I owned all the animals. Hehe. No, I told her they belonged to the playground. But I liked the fact that I looked like someone who could be owning a lot of animals and being responsible and adult and stuff like that.
Good times had by all.
Yesterday I also got an email from topdata.dk. Saying that they have shipped off my computer. So, Monday or Tuesday. Oh boy, oh boy. Shiny new toy.
Finally, a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umAffyC2zss. Some funny goat stuff in it. A couple of times I have come to the playground and found the kids running around on their own. This shows how they get out of the goat fold. Although it takes Lakrids a while to find the right spot. Of course when the video was taken the door was actually open, so she could have just run out there. But it’s more fun to break though a fence, isn’t it?! Other funny bits include the bunny running around (it’s more fun when I don’t have to catch it…), Magnethe and Vanilje butting horns. And my favourite bit is when Lakrids comes up to me and Mads decides that he doesn’t want to share his Plume so he swings his head towards her and she runs off and has to do a jump over Vanilje, who was rolling around on the ground. Never a dull moment with goats.

Frankie had his head stuck out through the fence. I watched him for a little while, hoping he could get himself unstuck.
I was just about to go out and see what I could do when all parts of his body were on the same side of the fence.
(The doctor never said I couldn’t get a goat untangled from the fence. I guess I never asked him about it either.) ha, ha
