It’s Raining Amens

Today I was supposed to go eat dinner with my parents. But that ended up not happening. My stomach started acting up last night, so I have spent a lot of time in the bathroom instead. I don’t know if it’s connected to the flu I just had or not. I had been feeling like I was not quite over it yet. But who knows. My stomach is starting to feel better already, so hopefully it was just a little passing thing.

Instead of family dinner I watched the football. The Danish soccer season ended today. I sat down and watched the Brøndby game. Been a long time since I actually watched one. It’s too hard to follow these days, because of my lacking eyesight. So I usually just listen to it on the radio or check the score afterwards. But it was nice to watch a little today. Especially since it was a completely crazy end to the season. Brøndby had to win by the same margin as Esbjerg in another game, to get the bronze medal. Brøndby won 3-1. Esbjerg was ahead 3-0, so it wasn’t looking good. But then as the end approached the updated scores started coming in from the Esbjerg game. 3-1. 3-2. 3-3. So it all ended happily and Brøndby took third place in the league and qualified for next year’s European competitions. Which is pretty good considering it’s been (yet another) disastrous season.

There, that takes care of the bi-yearly soccer update. I won’t bore you with that stuff again for a while.

But I will bore you with more videos of the goat kids. youtube.com/watch?v=_iGp6bOpiUs. From Friday. Turned out the playground was closed when I got there. Thursday was a holiday, so I guess they took a long weekend. When I got there I heard the goats inside the pig house. Don’t know why they were in there. Maybe the goat house was being cleaned or something. But it did mean that I wasn’t sure if I should use my key to go in. I figured that if I opened the pig house they’d come running out and I might have a hard time getting them back in all on my own. So I wasn’t sure if that’d be a good idea. But also I didn’t know when anyone might come around to feed the animals, so I could be in for hours of waiting. Then it occured to me that the goats couldn’t possibly be walking around freely in the pig house, Because that’s where the fodder boxes are. If the goats were out there then Magnethe would empty it all in no time. So they had to be in the geese pen. And they were. No geese, just three goats in there. So I got to spend a little time with them after all. I lifted the boy out of the geese pen and let him walk about for a little. But Magnethe still doesn’t like to be separated from her babies of course, so I put him back in with mama pretty quickly.

Mama Magnethe also weren’t too happy when I left without letting them out. Since Thursday was a holiday they wouldn’t have been outside then either. No fair when goats have to be all cooped up inside. She’ll be happy getting out again tomorrow after four days incarceration.

And that concludes today’s sermon.
