Dental Plan

I got myself quite a surprise when I went to see the dentist yesterday. The surprise? That there was nothing wrong with my teeth.

I hadn’t been to the dentist in 10 years if not more. I was fully expecting there to be problems. But nope. Nothing. My front teeth were a little worn for my age, but other than that there was nothing. As the dentist said “I’d like to be able to tell you that after 10 years you had lots of problems I need to fix, but that’s not so”. Hah. And here I was all scared and nervous. For no reason after all. My dad seemed a little shocked afterwards too, when I told him there was nothing wrong. But I have him to thank for my well kept teeth.

It was odd being back in a dentist’s chair. When he started poking around in my mouth I felt like I had never been gone. You never forget the dentist chair.

But I’m glad I got it done so quickly. I knew for a while that I had to do it sooner or later. That I couldn’t keep postponing it. So I’m glad I got it over with, instead of going around worrying for ages. Now I don’t have to worry about dentistry for another year.

The dental clinic is almost right next to the playground, so after the appointment I popped over and had a good time with the goats. Enjoyed the warm weather and Hans and Grethe’s bad behaviour. I am also happy to report that Sigrid is back. I mentioned she was off in Thailand doing volunteer work with monkeys, didn’t I? I thought she’d be gone for good. I mean, not that she’d stay in Thailand. But that she wouldn’t be back at the playground. So I was very happy to see her again. I do like her a lot.

Other than that there is not so much going on. With the dentist appointment out of the way I don’t think I have anything planned until the hospital appointment in September where I can hopefully get the laser treatment for the secondary cataracts. My vision has become quite unclear again. Sometimes it almost feels as bad as it was before the last surgery. But the field of vision is still bigger so overall I can see better. I can still watch the soccer. Which makes me look very much forward to the Danish season starting. It will be great to be able to enjoy that again. And other than that just chill out and fry in the summer heat like an egg on a burning frying pan. Sizzle sizzle.

Meanwhile, also, a couple of videos of goats per as the usual.

youtube.com/watch?v=acUymOUaHVU. From Tuesday. Hans was being very naughty. And the bunnies were being chased around too.

youtube.com/watch?v=zxrvNwur1RE. Friday. Some boys had fun with feeding leaves to the goats. And we all enjoyed a good sitdown in the sun, like lazy goats do.

La dolly vita.

You will have to stop gnawing on the wooden chair legs. Your front teeth don’t keep growing like a rabbit’s teeth will grow. hee, hee

Look Ma! No cavities. Hooray for Plume. I too, neglected to go to the dentist in my younger (stupider) days. I did have many, many cavities to have filled. I think about 13. After going back to have them taken care of, I got over my fear of the dentist.

Now I go twice a year to have my teeth cleaned and to keep from being afraid of the dentist. (The more I see him, the less fear I have. Or something like that.)

Those goatzie boys are growing up so fast. They are huge. Those leaves looked like willow leaves to me as well.

“Volunteering with monkeys in Thailand” – now that sounds interesting.
Inquiring minds want to know more! You can tell Sigrid your nosy American friend wants to know about her “monkey adventures”.

Debster – It’s all those branches I keep chewing on. Goats like me need strong teeth!
I am happy I have never had a cavity in my life. That’s pretty good going for someone who has diabetes isn’t it? With all the bad the sugar has done me, at least it hasn’t ruined my teeth.
My dad goes to the dentist 3-4 times a year. He is big on dental hygiene. I only need to go once a year now. That’s still better than once every 10 years.
I do wish I could ask Sigrid about the Thailand thing, but I am too shy. I did talk to her a little bit yesterday. Found out some really nice news. But check out the newest entry for that stuff.
