The Sound of Melting Snow

The weather rollercoaster continues. Last week it was bitterly cold and snowy. This week it has been pleasantly mild. The sound of melting snow. Next week is supposed to be somewhere in the middle. Not freezing but close to it. Perhaps sleet and snow. I am longing for the summer.

I talked to Bodil on Monday. She had been at the playground’s christmas party. It was on Friday, last week. I’m not quite sure how a christmas party in late January works. But anyway, I was invited again but did not go. For all the same old reasons. But I had told Bodil to say hi from me to the others. And she said that they had talked about me for a good 15 minutes or so. About all the pictures I had given them. And all I had done for the goats. So that was really sweet. I am glad that I can part of that place even if I’m not good at being part of the social events. I am part of its history still. And Bodil told me that Sigrid had been at the party and had asked Bodil to say hi to me. So that was sweet too. I don’t think I have mentioned it in the blog, but Sigrid stopped at the playground in the new year. We weren’t sure if she’d be back or not, but Bodil told me she’ll be back in March. So I’m very happy about that. We’ll have her for another year, before she goes off to complete her education, I assume. I think the work at the playground is work experience or something like that. I’m sure she’s destined for greater things than our little playground, but I’m glad she’ll be around for a while yet.

Now on with pictures.

Kamel at the gate.

Mia being nosey.

No angle a goat won’t twist their face into for some eats.

Mia balancing on the table. It almost looks like Mio is looking up at her, telling her to get down. Young lady!

Mia climbing a tree. Sort of.

Mia whispering in my ear.

Mia sat down three times in that spot, within reach of the christmas tree. What a sweet spot.

Mia is getting bigger but Mio is still biggest.

And videos.

Goatlog from Monday. Lots of loud baahing from Mia. And the general fun stuffs.

And goatlog from Thursday. Not too much happening. Sweet little Mia stuff and all.

That’s all for this time. I would like to end with thoughts and condolences to Deb and Sam who lost one of their sweet goats, Frankie, this week. Terribly sad. When you’ve known a goat that long they are like family. I’m sure not everyone will understand that. But I do. I love Deb’s goats. I have been seeing pictures of them and hearing stories about them for years and years, so they are a part of my life too. I hope now Frankie is finding his way to Mads and Magnethe and all the others we have lost over the years. In that special place, where I hope to go some day too. I am sure Frankie will feel right at home there with the others.

Thanks for the nice words, Plume. We miss Frankie so much. It’s just amazing how a pygmy goat can work his way into your life. We are both feeling better as time goes on, but we’ll always keep Frankie close in our heart.

I emailed you a bunch of Frankie pictures. Frankie on the 4 wheeler, Frankie on the green truck, Frankie eating apples, Frankie climbing the apple tree, etc. He was just so cute and his nose was so pink.

I think we need to take more pictures of our other two goatzies and of Snickers. One can never have enough pictures of your animal friends.

Thank you Deb. Just replied to your email. I’ll be downloading the pics now.
I certainly am glad that I have thousands of pictures of my goat friends. What, me overdoing it? Naaah. I wish I had hd videos of the older goats. The new videos are so nice and smooth compared to the old ones. But I’m still glad I got them of course.
Mads was a pygmy goat, so I completely understand it.
