Format C:
I am Plume’s boring tech-update.
Currently trying to reinstall windows. I booted with my Windows CD. And quite worringly it tells me that the hard drive is either damaged or unformatted. But it’s reformatting now. So maybe I’ll get lucky and it will work. Although if it works then can I trust it? I wish I knew what the hell happened. Anyway, it’s formatting now. And if that goes okay then it will install Windows all over. I have lost everything on the hard drive, but luckily I had time to move most of it over to my external hard drive. So I will only be losing a few recent things.
I’m crossing my fingers… But I still think there must be some physical fault on the hard drive, and if that’s the case then I’ll have to get it replaced. And IF there is something wrong with the hard drive then I’d rather know about it right now. Instead of having it crash again a week or a month from now and potentially lose me important stuff.
I just want things to be easy. It’s my vacation, I don’t want to be depressed and frustrated.
But Debbie, you’re right. The worst case scenario is that I’ll have to send the computer back and wait a while. It’s not like that will kill me.
7% formatted. Cross your fingers for me.
PS. 3B is starting to make those grown buck grunts too now. Too sweet.

Blame it on solar flares and/or sun spots. Just about everything can be blamed on solar flares and sun spots.
We’ve had truck trouble this week. First one truck dies, then the other truck dies, then we get one truck to run, and the other one goes in to the truck hospital. When the garage guy tries to start the previously dead truck – you guessed it – the truck magically starts! So at least we could drive it to the hospital instead of having it towed.
We always blamed everything on sun spots when we were kids. Why did you hit your sister? The solar flares made me do it. Did you feed the dog? No, sun spot amnesia. Did you finish that report for work? Sun spots interferred with my thought process and I couldn’t get it done.
You get the idea – your computer is being affected by SUN SPOTS and SOLAR FLARES! It is out of your control. Relax, drink a liter of something cold, and find a goat to pet. Solar flares eventually die down, until the next big event. And you said it has been hot there, so see, I know what I’m talking about.

I am definitely keeping my fingers crossed for you hun. I know how much it sucks to have your holidays ruined by stupid stuff going wrong.
I am sending good “fix, damn you” vibes to your computer right now.
