A Clone To Call My Own

I have been having headaches at night, lately. Maybe I’m not getting enough sleep. Or maybe I’m getting too much. Or maybe I shouldn’t carry an anvil around on my head all day. It’s a big mystery.

But I won’t cheat you out of pictures from my day. And the kids.

kids

Little brownie with a straw in her mouth. Rebel without a cause.

kids

Lakrids pondering if she can somehow get up to my bag. There’s sure to be exciting things in there. All bags have exciting things. That’s why goats always attack your bags. They know that there is excitement within.

kids

Don’t you just love that face? I do.

kids

Looking up to mama. Hard to believe that those two are going to end up the same size, more or less, sooner or later.

kids

Looking up to me.

mads

And let’s not forget Mads. That is one of my favourite goat positions. Lying down with the head twisted in the other direction, flat against the ground. It always makes me smile.

On my way home I stopped by the new Netto to do some shopping. And met Bodil. She was without Lulu. Lulu is in the hospital. It’s nothing serious, but still not nice of course. She’s going to have a cyst (I believe it’s called) removed. Nothing dangerous. And also have x-rays taken because she might have a diskusprolaps. I’m too tired to find out what that’s called in English, but it’s something with the back. Even though it’s not supposed to be anything serious, I could still tell Bodil was worried. There’s always a risk with animals undergoing anesthesia. So let’s all cross our fingers for Lulu coming home safely soon. That dog means the world to Bodil. And I’m quite fond of her too. I met them on Monday. They were on the other side of the road and Lulu spotted me and practically dragged Bodil across the road. Good thing there weren’t any cars! It makes me happy, though. That Lulu likes me. I can understand with the goats, I go see them all the time and I bring them treats and sometimes I feed them in the weekends. Of course they’re going to like me. But I don’t see Lulu often and I never bring her treats or feed her. And Bodil says that she doesn’t just take to everybody. So the fact that she gets excited to see me, that’s a really sweet thing. I am not completely unlovable after all.

So good vibes to Lulu, and Bodil too.

And now bedtime, as per the anvil’s instructions. Not many people carry a talking anvil around on their head all day. I am quite unique. All my clones that I keep stored in the closet agree with me on that.

Man, that’s so kewl, having clones of you!! They all move the same way you do. I hope they don’t have those big, heavy metal things on their heads, too.

I shall sent postive thoughts to Lulu and Bodil. Little dogs always have some sort of back ailment when they get older. It’s inevitable.

Mads looks like a large dog sunning himself. What a funny sight!

Brownie looks like she’s smoking! Baaaaad goat!

My husband wanted to know where the Benny Hill soundtrack was on that last video of the hopping, leaping goatzie girls and Vanilje? That looked “Benny Hill” for sure.

A ruptured disk? For Lulu, perhaps. I hope she is doing well. Bodil must be concerned about her. How old is Lulu anyway?

Of course, Lulu likes you. Every smart little animal likes “The Plume”. There are even some bigger human animals who are quite fond of you, silly!

Saw our first barn swallow flying around this evening when we let the goats out for a walk. It was flying around “the barn”, hence its name!

They make little mud nests in the barn rafters and after the babies hatch, they watch us when we’re in the barn. So when we get the feeling someone is watching us, we look up and see 3 or 4 baby bird beaks peering out over the nest. “Where’s our food?”

LuisLemmings: guess who felt an earthquake early this morning? And no, I didn’t move to CA

That’s the second little tremor I’ve felt in my life. I was awake this am and Buddy (the laughing parrot) let out a couple of warning squawks, a few seconds later, I felt the bed jiggle a bit.

I told my husband it was an earthquake and look out for a tsunami! Buddy is our early warning earthquake monitor. (A talent we didn’t know he possessed.)

No damages in our area and there was supposedly another one around 11:00 a.m., but didn’t feel it here. Now it’s raining, again.

  4. Plume Says:

LuisLemmings – Don’t worry, my clones don’t have anything on their heads. In fact their heads are removable for easy storing in cardboard boxes. So it’s all good.
Goats are a lot like dogs. Except much naughtier! Goat kids are like puppies anyway, someone just said so today when one of the kids jumped up against my leg. “It’s just like a little puppy” she said. True dat.

Debster – Yeah, she looks like she has quite the attittude. “Yeah, I’m smoking? Haven’t you ever seen a goat smoke before? You wanna make something of it? *coughcough* smooooth”. I wonder if they make nicotine gum for goats?!
Did you know that you can’t find any Benny Hill chase videos on youtube? Lots of parodies, but not the real thing last I looked. Copyright issues I guess. Or the parody has outpopularized the original. Hmm.
Ruptured disk sounds about right. It’s something about the spine. Humans get it too. I hope she’ll be okay. I don’t know how old Lulu is, I’ll try and remember to ask the next time I see them. Hopefully won’t be too long, I want to know that e verything is okay.
Humans that are fond of me? That sounds like crazy talk, I can’t imagine who that would be! They must be very nice and sweet people, though. Good folks.
Earthquake? That’s scary. But at least there wasn’t any damage. You’re sure it wasn’t just a flock of goats who sensed food in the area? That might shake the ground a bit! But seriously, I hope there will be no more tremors. Give Buddy a cracker from me and tell him: good job.
